My House >> A doorway to Heaven and Bliss (PART 1)

Land Touched by God - South Coast

One of the most important lessons I have learnt in my past, travelling, fuck ups and moments of epiphany is that home is where the life source in us (to make it easier we will call it source) always tries to reconnect with natures regenerative force. This is because it is the only place where one is able to close the outside world which is a never ending rat race behind us.

1

That is sadly next to impossible in the days were living now with all the pre-fabricated homes and concrete jungles we live in with the rude blare of the traffic in the back ground. There was a time in the past when our ancestors stepped on the very Earth we walk in today sending ripples though nature. People these days say they do not know how our ancestors managed the Isolation but the honest truth is they were all connected to each other in a way we never could. They lived in harmony with Earth as our sources were always linked to her regenerative power which in return linked all of them together in ways we would never know. Call me cuckoo but till today there are still a lot of landmarks which baffles the smartest minds of modern Post Y2K intellects.

2

Lets go no further than the Pyramids, an engineering marvel, it is so in sync with the land, stars and life around it that its very astronomical synchronicity with the heaven and stars baffles us today.

How could it be that people from the countries listed below still uncover Pyramids and have them as national icons in the following country.

– Canary Islands
– Spain
– Greece
– Sudan
– Egypt

3

– Peru
– Brazil
– Bolivia
– Japan
– Guatemala
– Mexico
– Indonesia

4

– Tahiti
– Western Samoa
– Kazakhastan
– England
– Italy
– Nubia
– Turkey
– Bosnia

5

How is it in a time with no internet, mobile phone, postal services that these people managed to come up with the same idea and achieve the same super human monoliths which baffles experts till today how they could have been made with sissy pre historic tools. I believe it is a no brainer these were people who lived in harmony with nature, lived in a give and take place where there source was constantly in touch with nature which could have unlocked any number of potentials in them, that we call it evolution today.

So when did this all fall apart I often wonder, it could have been when man felt lust when he laid his eyes on what someone else had. One could also say it all started with the first murder on our Planet as it was the first most unnatural act on mother earth.

1

Anyways back to the house …. So whats the most natural thing around me that would help me return to nature ??

What would free me from getting caught in the rat race ever human is born into unwillingly today ??

Whats the best way to return to nature, get my source connected to nature and in return heal many scars and bring in me a sense of contentment, which would be akin to feeling closer to your maker or as the religious minds call it “closer to god” ??

The two quotes that keeps popping into my mind when I think about these questions are really weird  I have no clue who came up with them or if it is even accurate but they go something like –

“God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference”

“If you are patient in one moment of anger, you will escape a hundred years of sorrow”

These are questions one should not take lightly. It is surprising at the speed decisions are made today with no consideration put into it after affects and we live in a society that applauds it by calling it efficiency. Maybe its just me but its just not my cup of tea.

So the first thing I would obviously have to do is buy land since she is abundant and everywhere and work my way back into nature. (mind you when I say this you have to understand that I mean it literally)

Many people find themselves bogged down by mortgages, working two jobs to come up with a deposit to the bank. All around us this is the case but one has to step back only for a minute and consider this proposition from a new set of eyes. We live in a world that is globalized to the point that one can accurately pin point another individuals position in a particular space of time to within a meter.

Technology allows us to fly across oceans which has consumed many adventurers and explorers as they tried to traverse and map the world we live in today. So why not fly to countries which allows foreigners to buy land and you can find parcels of land which is One mans monthly wage in the Western society. Countries like Ecuador, Paraguay, Brazil, Belgium and some may raise their eyebrows when I say this but why not the Euro ravaged Iberian Peninsula.

Now lets say we all find our perfect piece of land, then what ??

5

When people think of building their home, it is a prospect that intimidates them so much they run back into their respective rat races. (note I did not say shell because there is no shell to hide from the affects of the modern world we live in today consumerism eventually sucks in the most disciplined of us)

Just take a step back have a mojo and chillax and look around you. The very ground we stand on can be sculpted into a house that would last for over a century and our future generation get to enjoy it. Welcome to the world of COB muhahaha !!

2

So what is COB ??

Basically it is a building material which consists of clay, sand, straw and water. There are so many things you could do with COB and your hands, even one who is not artistically inclined like me find in it a material to create art and sculptures. So why not a house. The picture above is proof for that.

The funny thing is COB building techniques has almost been lost to the brink of existence and its only thanks to the efforts of people in small pockets around the world that are keeping this proud tradition going.

It is the oldest and most common building material that has been found in every pre historic society. In Afghanistan today one can still find COB in some of the oldest man made structures from the 11th and 12th century, in the local dialect COB is known as Tabya.

It is not only restricted to this region of the world, signs of cob being used by our ancestors exist all around the globe from the Tip of Alaska to the most southern tip of Newzeland.

How to make the perfect mix of sand, clay and straw to start sculpting your own house ??

That is something I will leave for another day cos I got an early start tomorrow and four sails to look forward to hopefully it will be an easier day.

So many of the worlds problems today can be solved by one man and groups of friends. All we have to do is start building and we do not know how, just use Google how much easier can it get. Imagine hundred groups of ten people, roaming around our frontier land building. Starting a Guerrilla Building group and when the house is done just leave a logo or indention behind to mark your presence through the cycle of the heavens even after were long gone.

Mine actually would look something like the one shown below:

Anyways People am tired so am off to say hi to Mary Jane before I hit the sack.

Ta!!!!

Interesting thought. We are all too far from the heart of the earth. I will continue to read Part 2 tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and reading about my knee’s trip through the medical system, dragging me kicking and screaming behind it. Hope you’ll be back.

Thank you for this. Surprising how many architects are going back to natural materials in their search for ‘greener’ ways to live on this earth… some have used COB to build underground houses where the temperature and wear from the elements are stabilized. I look forward to reading more of your posts, and thank you for visiting my blog.
